Dear faculty and staff:
It is 11:00 pm, and the boat swings on a mooring in the harbor of the Isles of the Shoals. A weather front comes through
the anchorage; winds shift 180 degrees, then rises to 50 knots with thunder and lightening. I think "This is too much like
work!" And maybe it is, as in the hours after midnight the sky clears and the stars appear.Perhaps that is our job, to get
our students through the "storms", and not only view, but reach the "stars".
Yes this is the faculty/staff letter indicating that the summer is near its end.
***yadda yadda yadda***
Al cormier (Chief) and his crew once again have the "Traditions" days organized and scheduled. I thank them for their
work. Thank you's also go to Bob Warren, Joe Campbell, Carol Taylor, Kris Willis and Kevin Foley for their efforts. We are
pushing hard in a number of areas. Jim kollmer, Bob Bazinet, and their crews are finishing their annual summer work, and the
support staff kees us moving smoothly through the waves. The Academy will be ready for "sea" once again.
***yadda yadda yadda***
The weather is clear; the breeze is freshening; the seas are following; and the glass is rising. I am off to trim
the sails. See you in a few weeks.
Sincerely.
